The 9th season of Hero ISL started with a match played between KERALA BLASTERS vs EAST BENGAL which turned out to be one of the best openers among all seasons. The fans returned to stadium after 2 seasons and turned out in huge numbers and the atmosphere was electifying.
The last seasons runners up Blasters looked well settled after few minutes. On the other side EB looked unsettled as most of the players were new to the club. The first half ended with 0-0 scorline though there were some chance for both teams which lacked good finsh.
In the second half the blasters looked more settled and looked more lethal in attacking third. In the 72nd min of the game Andrian luna socred a screamer assisted by Harmanjot khabra. Luna dedicated the goal to his late daughter Gulieta.
In the 82nd min of the game the ukranian Ivan Kalyuzhnyl went past the defenders of EB and scored a stunner. The east bengal defenders looked clueless. Blasters lead by 2-0 at this piont. Though Alex lima pulled back a goal in 88th min it wasn’t enough, in the very next minute the ukranian Ivan scored stunner and turned out as a super sub. Most of the game blasters dominated while bengal struggled with its midfield and defense.
